For many years, I practiced critical care nursing both in the United States and abroad, and I spent a decade working as a nurse practitioner. My interest and continuing education has been in the field of trauma care, neurosurgery, neurology, oncology, and bone marrow transplants and more recently, Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. These experiences have given me the knowledge necessary to care for a wide variety of patients, many of whom had serious, often terminal, illnesses and suffered from chronic pain.
My own painful migraines led me to seek alternative treatment and a new career path. I enrolled in the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and in my studies I found that Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine were extremely effective treatments. I am a graduate of PCOM with a Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine. Currently, I am working towards my Professional Doctorate in Oriental Medicine, in addition to studied Ayurvedic medicine at the Chopra Center in Carlsbad, CA. Today, using my experience as a practitioner of both Western and Eastern medicine, I help patients integrate the benefits of both disciplines.
Many people who come to me for acupuncture treatment are anxious and in pain. What they need is someone who will listen, provide reassurance, information, and a gentle touch. What most encounter is frustration trying to navigate a complex and bewildering modern health care system. I am in a unique position to help you as I have been part of that system. I spend a lot of time with my patients, explaining the treatments and encouraging them to ask questions. My patients achieve more rapid recovery from illness and prevention recurrent of disease.
I look forward to helping you.
