Instant or Natural?

I recently had questions about why one should undergo a series of acupuncture treatments, when they could just get Botox & the line they were worried about, would be instantly gone?

Botox masks who you really are….

Botox is indeed effective & instant. It lasts 3-6 months after it is injected. It is the most common cosmetic procedure in the US; a reported 6 million procedures per year in 2003, growing to 14.6 million per year in 2012. That equals billions of dollars in sales. Botox was approved around 2003 for injection to treat facial wrinkles, mainly the lines between the brows. It quickly became the magic elixir for Hollywood stars & housewives alike.

Toxins don’t fit into beauty or healthy living…

Botox, Vistabel, Botox cosmetic, Dysport, Bocouture, Xeomin, Myobloc are all names used for Botox. But what is it really? It is a drug made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum or botulinum toxin, found growing in soil. Yes, I said bacteria & neurotoxin. Just one gram of botulinum toxin could kill over a million people; two kilograms could kill the entire human population of Earth!

Botox jumps from cell to cell, moving the toxin all over the body…

The side effects of Botox are often minimized. The FDA has warned about this to no avail. Clients are often told that Botox will stay only in the muscle that is injected. New research has shown that this is absolutely not the case. Studies now show that the toxin jumps from the site of injection to other neurons in the body & stops nerve cells from communicating. It is unknown how far the toxin can travel, but some have experienced low levels of botulism poisoning, even months after treatment.

Conscious Beauty is an Entire Lifestyle

In our day to day living we campaign against GMO foods, promote an organic lifestyle, do cleanses, exercise all to maintain health, promote wellness, & rid our body of, yes toxins. Yet caution seems to go out the door when it comes to our most precious commodity, our face. We see stretched, shiny faces, incapable of emotion everywhere. When this toxin is injected into the face to freeze the muscles you give up access to a range of emotions they normally express. Every line on our face is a piece of information about our emotional & physical well-being. Neutralizing our face means decreasing our emotional breadth. Studies are showing that freezing the face keeps us from empathizing with others, suppresses emotions needed for healing, & keeps us from connecting with others since we can’t relate to them anymore. Laughing, smiling, frowning is our connection to ourselves and to others. Eventually facial muscles atrophy & sag. Some studies indicate that Botox injections never completely go away.

A new approach to beauty…A new response to aging…

Is there a better way to absorb aging? Yes!  There is no need to mask your years of accumulated wisdom or limit your emotional expression. Facial lines are expressions of our accumulated stress & emotions over time. Aging gracefully means transforming these experiences in a way that leaves us fresh & new, without shutting us down. Facial renewal acupuncture is an alternative to dangerous poisons or toxins that block our energy flow. This is a way to heal from the inside out. Acupuncture facials improve circulation & unblock stuck energy, leading to healthier skin on the face. Because the whole body is treated taking care of constitutional problems with the liver, spleen, or kidneys, the side effect to Facial Rejuvenation is not just a younger, smoother, brighter, uplifted face, but a body that is more balanced, less anxious, & more able to handle the stressors of our busy lives.  This new response to aging rejuvenates your vitality & respects your individuality!
