Esoteric Acupuncture

Take a deep cleansing breath, quiet your mind, drop into your heart, & let the magic happen.  Do you need help allowing the magic? Shifting your energy so that you are in your heart space? Are you trying to release yourself from past negativity, destructive habits, blockages, disharmony, & restriction? Are you searching for a way to open up & let go of emotional & spiritual tension to allow in a harmonious flow of inner love & peace? Are you ready to let go & dissolve your fears?  I would like to tell you about Esoteric Acupuncture. It is a non-traditional form of acupuncture that focuses on spiritual growth and personal evolution. It is a way to open up the deepest energy fields of the heart chakra. Esoteric Acupuncture uses specially designed geometric patterns of needle placement that work on subtle levels of very fine frequencies. They allow sound-light vibrations to enter through the acupuncture points, thus “accelerating the spin of cell molecules and causing the formation of light micro-fibrils within the cells.” The needle patterns allow reorganization of body patterns on every level of our being, from consciousness to the physical body. Mental clarity and vibrant health are experienced as disharmony, disease and disconnection are dispelled. In addition, deeper states of meditation are achieved along with greater emotional calm. When we get caught up in the mundane world we lose connection with ourselves. Or sometimes we get so caught up in ourselves that we cannot make a realistic connection with the outside world. When we are out of touch with our core being we lose the ability to know...

A Truly Grand Opening

A Truly Grand Opening   The excitement is building at Shindai Acupuncture! Our Grand Opening is just around the corner & I can’t wait to see you all there! It will be a time filled with events that are entertaining & promote good Qi in this new space! Have you heard of a Lion dance? You won’t want to miss this experience! It is an East Asian tradition where performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume to bring good luck and fortune to the new space and to all who witness the dance. This may bring out your inner roar in celebration!  We are on Native American soil here in Sedona & as such, we will pay homage to the energy that is around us. Callie Hill & James Riverstone will be offering up a Native American prayer in the Andean tradition & song as a blessing to the new space & as a sign of respect to those that have been here before us. Aho! Increasing your physical, emotional, & spiritual health is the priority at Shindai. Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!  I am excited to write this blog about Traditional Herbal Medicine. I have just returned from Santa Fe, where I have been traveling & studying for 2 years to complete my post-graduate work in Japanese Kampo Herbal Medicine Training.  My interest in natural medicines for healing started while I was obtaining my nursing degree years ago & has continued & developed into a passion for me. During my time as a western practitioner, I was sometimes frustrated by the lack of options for some of the most common ailments. Traditional Herbal Medicines open up increased choices for healing & with their limited side effects when they are used properly, it is hard not to use them alone or in conjunction with other remedies.   At this point I hope I have intrigued you enough to ask what is Kampo & Traditional Herbal Medicine? Traditional Medicine is a comprehensive system of healthcare with its own theoretical basis and practical experience. Kampo Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, and other non-drug therapies are part of this system. Kampo has a long history of use dating back to the Edo period (1600’s). Kampo is becoming more popular because this form of medicine is useful in treating conditions that have limited treatments in Western medicine (or as an adjunct to them). In the Japanese system of healthcare, these remedies are used & prescribed along with Western medicines. Most Kampo practitioners are medical doctors in Japan & Kampo is a fully recognized specialty of medicine there.  Interest & demand for Kampo & Traditional Medicine is rising globally. The opioid crisis...

Veterans, Post Traumatic Stress, and Acupuncture

There are considered three treasures in Oriental Medicine, Jing, Qi, & Shen. Jing is your essence or the source of life, health, & longevity. Qi is your vital energy giving you the ability to move your body. Shen is your spirit & is the most subtle of the Three Treasures. Conscious beauty as we have been talking about has to do with nurturing all of these aspects to maintain health & wellness. Developing a healthy Shen is dependent on cultivating healthy Jing & Qi. The development of a balanced body allows the Shen to shine.  This month I am supporting the Earned Innocence Project, a fundraiser to empower our veterans & bring them home to themselves. PTS is a significant problem & issue for many that have been in the military or lived through a traumatic event. Trauma & shock have profound physiological effects on us.  Whether physical or emotional, trauma causes the circulation of Qi & blood to diminish. Trauma causes a shock to the heart & affects the circulation of blood to the body.  According to the RAND Corporation study titled The Invisible Wounds of War, approximately 300,000 of the 1.5 million deployed since 2001 to Iraq and Afghanistan, suffer from PTS or major depression. And about 320,000 may have experienced at least a mild concussion or brain injury in combat. PTS can cause symptoms of depression, anxiety, insomnia, migraines, as well as pain originating from psychosomatic disorders. More & more studies are showing that acupuncture helps to ameliorate or resolve symptoms associated with PTS. And unlike many conventional therapies that require patients to reconstruct the traumatic...

Embrace Your Inner Goddess!

Embracing Your Inner Goddess   Facial renewal acupuncture isn’t just for entertainment professionals. We all have a desire to put our best face forward! This desire isn’t just about looking younger, it is about feeling vital & confident about ourselves. As the medi-spas offer more & more outlandish & questionable beauty enticements, you may ask, “How can I feel & look refreshed, healthy & vibrant, without undergoing the knife or syringe?” By using ancient beauty ‘secrets’ from Asia you can unlock your own body’s power to heal & adapt to the aging process. Constitutional Facial Renewal is ancient wisdom with a modern twist. The face is a mirror for everything happening inside our body & mind. And the muscles of the face are both highly vascular, small, & amenable to change. By combining a constitutional body treatment aimed at correcting organ imbalances that show up on the face, & facial acupuncture protocols specifically designed to lift, smooth, & tone facial muscles, you unlock renewed facial vitality. The process of facial renewal promotes a healing cascade that facilitates increased micro-circulation & oxygen supply to the skin & the skin’s soothing agents. Detoxification is encouraged & the precursors to collagen & elastin are triggered, giving improved firmness, elasticity, reduced lines & a healthier completion & texture. As results accumulate the body remembers & holds the results longer & longer. The skin plumps as facial energy & blood circulation is restored, facial muscular tension is released, puffiness & fluid retention drains,  & a stressed complexion brightens! Besides the ability to reprogram the skin & muscle’s of the face, Constitutional Facial Renewal helps clients shed years of...
